A Corny Joke a Day, Keeps The Grouchies Away

I stole this from Joyce's blog in all it's slaps-fore-head, corniness!
Here are the jokes in full Singaporean glory!

Corny joke #1 (#9 on her blog)
Hickory dickory dock,
Three mice ran up the clock,
The clock struck one,
But the other two got away with minor injuries.

*moans and rolls eyes* - which is the normal reaction to corny ones

Corny joke #2 (#8 on her blog)
Q: What's the difference between boogers and broccoli?
I think in order to appreciate it's full corniness, you should at least attempt to think up the answer.
Don't be lazy! Got think already anot? Well, if you have, or haven't (shame on you!) the answer is: Kids don't like to eat broccoli
.

Granted, it's not politically correct, but you have to admit it's good! Haha!
Can you believe she was my cell leader for two years in UK?

It's Time to Move...

God has been so faithful to Subang Jaya Assembly!
He's blessed us in so many different ways. We first moved into the building back in the year 2000, if I'm not mistaken. And through His grace and His strength, we accomplished many exploits!
Our very first building, one we could call our own! And now, we're moving on!!! Haha!
Oh well, the church is meant to be the body of believers anyway.

Has it been TEN YEARS already??!!!

Exciting-ness!!! The First Building Fund collection was announced this morning... and it was an AH-STOWN-DINGGG amount!!! Certainly beyond what I had expected from only the first week!!! Hee... Let us continue to give, and to give cheerfully at that!!!

No more dream bike for me then... sigh... cannot! Cannot! Must give cheerfully! CHEERFULLY!!! Wahahahaahahaahh! 2 Corinthians 9 : 6-7

I want a bike

"Drools..."

I still get strange looks from people whenever I say that. I've been having this want for like a month now, so it's not just a spur of the moment longing / lusting thingy. The strangest response I got by far was,

"...you mean like... a bicycle-bike???" ...O_o?

"Err... No! I mean like a MOTORbike-bike!" ... =_= "

I wANt a BIkE! And not just any bike too! I want this one >>>

*drools!*drools!*drrrrooooolllllssss!!!*

Meet the Kawasaki Eliminator 250!!! I wish I could tell you that it is now in my possessions, but then that would be a lie. *sigh* And after you're done admiring the photo, can you imagine me riding it???!!!

*FREEZE!* Hold that look on your face! That's exactly what people have been giving me...

"You???... you can ride a bike meh??? Got motorbike license meh??"

Well, let me tell you smarty-pants-es out there, that ANYONE can learn and get a riding license, OK?!! But MORE importantly, I ALREADY have one!!! Nyahahaahaha! Read it and weep >>>

*erm... my camera's not the greatest, but trust me, it says I can ride a bike, ok!!! Fine, I want a camera too!*
*Sigh... I don't know why I bothered blocking out the private info*

uglkhglkhlkaehglkb... I want a bike, I want a bike, I want a bike... sadly though, my mom doesn't want me to have a bike... it's not safe, too dangerous, etc. etc... *sigh*. Yes, noted, and I'm well aware of that, but accidents can happen to anyone, not just bikers... AND, I still wanna get a bike. THAT bike!

I'm wearing her down tho... hehehee... from her initial "NO!"s, she's now saying, "Go ask your father!" Hahaha! All thanks to the "I'll go to the banks for you", "I'll help you get shopping done", "I'll go pick up / deliver stuff" speeches I've been giving! Wahahahahahahahahaha!!! Time to work on the dad! If only he's not based in Bangkok now... hmm. Maybe while I'm waiting, I should start working on saving up for the bike! Anyone wanna contribute to the "Get Donny a cool bike so that he can look cool riding it fund"? Better yet, anyone wanna sponsor him a bike??!!! Wahahaha! It's only RM3000...??? (Second-hand la, of course). Any takers??? *blink*blink*bambi eyes*

HEY! I just thought of something that might convince my parents to let me get the bike... I COULD say that the bike would help me get a girlfriend!!!! Wahahahahahahha! Get a bike, and get them off my back at the same time! Awesome... back to daydreaming...

Non Sequitur

Whadayaknow!!!

I didn't have a single post for the whole month of May. And it's already come and gone. Tsk! This is like the second blog I've birthed and (almost) killed. Shame. Must be all those life-changing, world-saving, history-in-the-making tasks I've been doing! Haha! Not. Save the whales! Be kind to animals!

Church Camp is coming up! Lots of music practices to be had! I hope I find time to sneak in some rest and good fellowship too. Of course, me is no way neglecting the eating. I wonder what food they have up there in Genting. Here's an interesting but not so useful fact: Some Singaporeans pronounce "Genting" as "Jen-ting". And still do... after I've corrected them like a gajillion times. (Disclaimer: I will not specify what "gajillion" means, so that I can freely and carelessly use the term to mean any number I want! Haha! Basically, it sounds like a lot! But it can also mean very little - in the event I need to protect myself - READ THE DISCLAIMER!!!)

I believe I've run out of ideas. My maximum word quota has been used up to meet all those Research Paper assignments requirements. I've written more Research Papers in this year alone than I have EVER written in my 20-something-erm... erm... erm... GAJILLION (please read disclaimer above) YEARS of life on this planet! Haha!

I'm beginning to like this new word I've invented. Gajillion! Hee... *abuse*abuse*. Take care you all! I promise to write a gajillion posts in the next gajillion month(s). Wahahahahahahahahahaaaaa....

Amazing Love...

I'm forgiven, because you were forsaken
Lord, I was a sinner, so unworthy, so undeserving; And yet you chose to forgive me.

I'm accepted, you were condemned
I escaped, was set free, experienced mercy; But you were chained, beat up and nailed to the cross.

I'm alive and well, your Spirit is within me
Consequently, you gave me life. You gave me hope and a reason to believe.
Who would have imagined that you would take my place?
Who would have imagined that you counted me worthy?
More than that you lifted me up,
You gave me wings that I may soar with you.
Whenever I am afraid, you are there to comfort me,
Whenever I am weak, you are my strength.
Who can ever separate me from the love of my God?
Who can ever build an army to march against Him?
No, there is no one.
Not even death, the supposed greatest enemy.

I am forever grateful.
I am forever thankful.
I believe in you, Lord.
You have made it all possible...

...because you died and you rose again.

Amazing Love, How can it be,
That You, My King, Would die for me?
Thank You, Jesus.

Smile a little more

Yahoo! Briefcase was shutting down, so I received a message the other day in my inbox instructing me to retrieve whatever files I had in there before they get deleted.

I hadn't used the Briefcase in like ages! And when I signed in to have a look, I was incredibly super-duperbly pleasantly surprised to find this old comic strip! I'm so glad to have saved it. It made me laugh the first time I saw it, and it still makes me smile today! Haha!

*click for the enlarged version! Noah's facial expression is hilarious!*

I don't think of it as blasphemous, and I certainly hope no one takes offense of it. What I do hope is that we learn to appreciate the humorous side of life. Life gets too serious sometimes, and sure, sometimes it really NEEDs to be! But if we don't learn to laugh at our own selves, then others will.

Wow! That only hit me after I said it. Haha! One more comic strip before I go:

Haha! Thank God for chocolate! Happy April Fool's Day!

Sick again...

... and I lost my voice. -_-'

Aaarggghhh!!! I can't be sick now, I've got too much to do! But I probably fell sick because I had too much to do in the first place.

Tsk. Terrible, terrible cycle. *sigh*

24-February-2009

Dear Andy Gan

Your smile brings cheer to the heart,
Your joy is contagious,
Your character is amazing,
And your humility humbles us all.

Your strength is upon the wings of eagles,
Your walk is guided by His Word,
Your trust is not on your own understanding,
For your faith is found firmly in the Lord.

Truly your life is a testimony to the world,
Your story brings hope to those who are lost,
You put others before yourself even when you face the toughest of times,
You are an inspiration and an encouragement to us all.

To me, you are a great Hero of Faith.

Happy 21st Birthday, my brother!
I’m praying for you! Please get well soon.

MISSING PERSONS PROFILES part 1...

Name: Tan Ai Vee

Last Seen: Thursday, 5th of February at the LCCT airport in Sepang, Selangor, clutching an adorable teddy bear. Her normally faithful companion, a rather worn out pink piggy was nowhere to be seen on that day.

Description: Somewhat shy, she is easily embarrassed and well-known for her ability to turn bright pink in a blink of an eye. She has a kind and pleasant personality with a warm disarming smile able to melt any cold fronts. Yet, she has good leadership qualities, having served as the ALFA Youth President in 2006, YAC2 cell leader and as a regular Worship Leader for the main service of SJAG, amongst other things. She is responsible, reliable and an excellent team player.

Suspect #1: Worn out pink piggy

Motive: Revenge for years of squashy-ness. (“Squash you back!!!”)

Suspect #2: Curtin University, Perth, Australia.

Motive: To offer the opportunity to further her studies in Finance and Marketing.

*Oh no! I over-squashed dolly!*

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Name: Jared Yeoh
Last Seen: Tuesday, 11th February at a McDonald’s Restaurant in the LCCT airport in Sepang, Selangor, devouring food as though it was his last (free) meal. He was seen accompanied by his parents and other travel-weary people.
Description: The eldest and only child of David and Annie, he is an independent, reliable and determined young man, with a stern face and a stare able to make children freeze and cry. Yet behind his beauty-product-enhanced good looks and abnormally broad shoulders, he is known to have his moments of ‘slaps-forehead-til-red’ clowning moments.
Jared was ALFA youth president for a gadjillion years before he surrendered it to focus on his SPM in 2006. Even so, he remained faithfully serving in the youth ministry, helping out wherever he could. He was also YAC2 cell leader and led worship in the church main service.
*I think this must be a prison shot*
Suspect #1: Travel-weary Fair Maidens.
Motive: For reasons only fair maidens can truly understand. (Oh well, who could blame them, eh?!!)
Suspect #2: Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.
Motive: To offer the opportunity to further his studies in Psychology. (Say no more!)
*he still finds the time to pose... -_-'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Name: Melissa Ang

Last Seen: Pulling away from her USJ home, very very early in the morning, in her family CRV with the rest of her family members. Witnesses say she was also spotted shedding a tear or two at the KLIA Departure Hall.

Description: With her exotic looks and dainty frame, one might mistake her to be a pushover... until they get pushed back!!! A responsible and reliable workaholic, this “keng chow” nocturnal young lady is dependable to get the job done. Watch out for her sms meeting reminders at 3 o’clock in the MORNING!!! Yet, she is friendly and sporting and willing to put herself down to make you feel comfortable! With such commendable skills, no wonder she was a popular ALFA youth president for 2 years in a row. Not to mention a skilful pianist and church worship leader.

Suspect #1: Her committee members

Motive: Several nocturnal smses too many and being pushed around too much?! Haha!

Suspect #2: Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.

Motive: To offer the opportunity to further her studies in Banking & Finance plus International Biz.

*you dare push me??!!! I mow you down!!! ...with a smile.*

BURN-E

So, I'm really bad at updating blogs... no surprise there! Haha!
But I have to admit that I still follow other people's blogs quite diligently... it's what I call Phantom Reading! Haha! (No, I'm not gonna tell you which blogs I'm "stalking"!)

Anyhoo, I came across this really funny short film by Pixar! It's called Burn-E, and it's a special feature on the Wall-E DVD. It's over 7 minutes long, but it's super worth the watch. I don't know if they might take it down, so you better watch it quick!!!

Hahaha! It's so funny ler... I laugh everytime. So cute, so kesian. I love it! BURN-E!
